To volunteer, please complete an application and confidentiality form. You must be over the age of 18. A criminal background study WILL be made.
Additionally, we will ask you to complete an interview and an orientation. Please bring a valid driver's license and proof of car insurance if you wish to be a driver.
We ask that you give at least a six-month commitment. We will work to accommodate your schedule.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Friendly Visitor: Visit older adults in their own home, provide companionship and socialization and possibly take seniors out for recreation and activities.
- Caregiver/Respite: Provide relief for a family caregiver to get away for a couple of hours while providing companionship and non-medical care for a homebound senior.
- Transportation: Provide transportation for older adults to medical and dental appointments using your car.
- Shopping: Take an older adult shopping or run short errands them such as grocery, personal or pharmacy needs.
- Handyman: Provide minor in-home repairs as needed and on-call.
- Gardening: Help with garden needs; planting, weeding, watering and maintaining gardens for seniors.
- Other Opportunities: Help with office and clerical duties as needed, bulk-mailings, newsletters, or special event planning.
